You keep a steady pace as you hurry down the sidewalk; you glance up every now and then to admire the falling petals. Their presence almost soothed your nerves; what if he wasn't there?
"Don't even worry," Gou had told you over the phone, "he'll be there!" Now, as you turned the corner to enter school grounds, her voice rang through your head, and you let out a huff of breath as you slowed to a stop. You looked up at the sign; "Samezuka Academy."
This was definitely where Gou had said her brother would meet you, but he was nowhere to be seen; the only noise you could hear was the rustling of the branches as the wind blew through the trees. You take a moment to reflect on what had led you to this moment; a few weeks ago, during a joint practice between your swim team and Rin's, you'd met Gou, who had been there in hopes of seeing her brother.
Gou pointed Rin out, and you'd taken an instant liking to him. She had noticed right away, and introduced you to him. Then, yesterday, Gou had called you excitedly, telling you that Rin had wanted to meet up with you. You were concerned at first, but she reassured you with those words; "don't even worry; he'll be there!"
I don't see anybody. You folded your arms across your chest as a cold gust of wind struck you.
"It's cold, isn't it?" You whip around in surprise. "Rin!" The young man takes a step forward, smiling at you. "Hope you weren't waiting too long." He slings a towel over his shoulder, putting a hand on his hip. You shrug, smirking. "No. I'm glad you're here, though. I was starting to worry you'd forgotten about me."
Rin laughed, exposing his sharp teeth. "Of course not! Now, enough small talk; ready for our first date?" You blush a little, nodding excitedly. Rin turns, looking over his shoulder. "I hope you like swimming." You tilt your head to one side. "Swimming? We're going swimming?"
That's hardly romantic.
Rin leads you down the halls of the school to the big double doors that lead to the pool. "Yeah; no competition or anything, just a quick dip in the pool." You put your hands on your hips. "Shouldn't a first date be, like, I don't know, dinner? Or a movie?" Rin smirks at you as you mutter, "this is hardly classy."
"Hey," Rin snaps, "how is it not classy to get a girl wet on their first date?" He laughs a little at his joke as you enter the large room; the lights aren't on, but through the glass roof, the light from the stars is reflected on the pool, making the water shine a little bit. "See?" Rin has tossed his towel aside. "This is pretty, right?"
You sigh. Rin wastes no time stripping down to swim trunks and jumping into the water, the splash echoing through the room. You walk up to the edge of the pool as he submerges, smiling at you. "Come on, get in." You glare at him. "I didn't bring a swimsuit or anything; I had no intention of swimming. I figured we'd go for a romantic moonlight stroll, or get pizza, or--"
You feel his hand on your foot, and you screech as he pulls you into the pool. You flail to the surface, gasping for air. "Rin!" You plant your feet on the bottom of the pool; your skirt is now drenched, along with your shirt and your hair. "It's freezing!" You take a sharp breath in; I'm going to freeze to death.
This is it, this is how I die.
"Hey, don't be like that." He makes his way over to you. "If you're cold..." he wraps his arms around you, pulling you close to him and muttering in your ear, "then let me warm you up." Your face reddens and you adjust your position in his arms so that your head is near his chest. "Hey..."
He rests his head on your shoulder, laughing a little. "Still cold?" You blush harder. "Of course, idiot." The words barely pass through your lips; he's warm, there's no denying that. You feel yourself practically melting in his arms. "Well, we can't have that." He smiles at you, narrowing his eyes. "Here we go!"
You barely catch your breath before he goes underwater. You open your eyes, and wonder for a second when Rin had put on the goggles. The thoughts escape your mind when he kisses you. Tiny bubbles escape between your lips as he does, and your eyes widen in surprise. "Rin!" You attempt to say his name, but it comes out as a gurgle and a few bubbles. He smiles before swimming to the surface.
"Were you trying to say something down there?" His breath is hot on your neck as he whispers in your ear; you blush, choking on your words a little. "Yeah." He still has you in his arms like a baby; part of you wishes that he would hold you like this for the rest of the night, but another part fears the horrid wrinkles that would develop on your skin from being in the water for so long.
"Are you warm yet?" He adjusts his arms so you're more comfortable. "Well, I guess I'm a little--" he suddenly jolts his arms up, tossing you in the air. You scream as you fly through the air and land a few feet away with a loud splash. you hit the surface, your eyes wide. Rin is laughing uncontrollably now, and you slap the surface of the water with your palms. "Did you just throw me?!"
"And you screamed so loud!" His voice is tight with laughter. You suddenly start laughing too; what a scene this would have been for someone to walk in on; a boy and a girl -- the girl in her clothes, in the middle of the pool, no less -- laughing wildly in the middle of the water at ten-thirty at night.
You work your way over to him when you've gathered yourself, wrapping your arms around him in a wet hug. "If you ever throw me again, I'll kill you," you whisper to him, holding him close to you and chuckling. He hugs you back, pushing you over so that you've gone under again. You feel his lips on your once more, and hold him closer. You can't help but smile this time when the bubbles escape between your lips.
Your hair floats behind you when you roll him over, hugging his chest under the water. When you submerge for air, he tells you, "your eyes reflect the moon." You smile a little. "Do they really?" He nods, putting a hand behind his head. "Yeah; it's beautiful." You blush a little, smirking and looking away. "Shut up."

"Just hold still." He wraps his towel around your waist, pulling you close, nuzzling your nose with his. You laugh, turning your head, leaving him to kiss your cheek and neck. "This wasn't as bad of a first date as I'd imagined," you admit. He pauses, looking up at you. "Nah. I could have done better, though." You smirk. "It's alright, Rin. I had fun."
You both head for the door, walking along the side of the pool. It's gone still again, the reflection of the stars once again making the room shine. "You really are the softest, cutest asshole in the entire world, you know that?" Rin glances over at you, raising one eyebrow. "Wanna go?"
You feel a heavy weight on your side. You hit the water with a grunt. You half expect him to be under with you, but this time, he's standing on the side of the pool, his eyes gleaming victoriously. "Who's soft now, princess?" He turns, leaving the room, closing the door behind him.
You stumble out of the pool, walking up and tugging on the door handle.
It's locked.
"You prick!" You can't help but laugh, banging on the door handle. "Let me out!" Rin, who had been farther down the hall, takes a few steps back, his eyes gleaming. "Oh, I'm sorry, this soft asshole is too weak to open doors." You slam your fists on the door. "Rin," you exclaim through laughs, "it's freezing in here!"
"Maybe you should have thought of that before falling in the pool."
"You pushed me in!"
Rin pushes open the door and you storm into the hallway, rushing down it as fast as you can. "If you don't hurry up, I'm leaving you behind." You hear his footsteps getting louder behind you, but you don't turn to look. You know he's getting closer. You see the door that you'd come in through; it was going to be freezing out there.
You glance over your shoulder at Rin. No, you think. Not if he's there...because if he's there...
"It's warm." The words are hardly more than a whisper, and Rin shouts, "what?!" You laugh. "Nothing!"

Submerged [Rin x Aquaphobic!Reader]
The water was his home. He moved. He lived. He rejuvinated from the boredom and burdens of everyday life. He unleashed his fullest potential, as if nothing could hold him back.
He only used the surface to receive the oxygen he needed to survive.
Regardless, he truly came alive submerged in the water.
After his fingertips brushed the porcelain walls, completing his final lap, he jolted his head from the water, filling the entirety of his lungs with a rewarding breath. His heart pounded the blood through his veins. His ears canals filled with water. But, the rush of energy could be compared to nothing else.
“Rin!”
Well, almost

Afternoon Swim {Rin Matsouka X Reader}
Standing outside of the Samezuka Academy indoor pool, you shrugged and decided that a late afternoon swim would be nice. Sure, you had exams and things to study for but… Who likes school anyway? Chuckling to yourself you looked at the doors that were wide open, but it appeared that no one is in there. Slinging your (favourite colour) towel over your left shoulder you walked into the building, your feet making small 'pit-pats' against the damp, cool floor. You took of your (second favourite colour) shirt and fold it up, placing it on the bench next to the pool. Looking into the clear water which had small ripples on the surface. Just wh

7 minutes in heaven (Nagisa Hazuki x Reader)
You sat there, awfully bored. For some reason Gou thought it would be a great idea to through a party for both the swimming clubs, and taking advantage of being the captain’s sister she insisted they did it on the Samezuka Academy pool.
But why you were there was what bugged you the most. Gou pleaded you to go with her, saying that if she was the only girl it would awkward, and as the great best friend you are you compelled, regretting it deeply as you reached the pool area filled with boys.
Now you were sitting on one of the benches around the pool surrounded by the Iwatobi boys and some others. They were obviously talking about s
