"Shorty?" Sebastian looked up to see Ciel pulling his shoes on, and grabbing his coat.

"I overslept," he explained quickly.

Sebastian's eyes focused as he sat up, his chest bare and his hair sticking up. He ran a hand through it, giving Ciel a confused look. "Do you need a ride home?"

Ciel looked at him, wondering if he should trust the senior. He had a sly smirk on his lips that made Ciel tense, and those eyes could force anyone to do what he asked.

"Sure," he replied. "I'll get home faster that way."

Sebastian got up, getting himself dressed without any warning to Ciel, who turned to look right when the underwear slid down. His jaw gaped, and he tried to look away, but he was frozen in place, bright red.

"Like what you see?"

Sebastian pulled up a clean pair of underwear, and Ciel stammered, "I...I, I didn't mean to...to look that long, I mean I didn't mean to look in the first place...I.."

Sebastian shrugged, pulling his shirt over his head and throwing on a purple hoodie, then smiling at Ciel. "Come on, let's get in the car."

***

"Did you get in trouble yesterday?" Elizabeth walked beside him through the damp morning fog, her eyes bright as usual.

"Yes," Ciel replied after a moment. "I came home late. Father was very upset, and I got yelled at, but there was no further punishment."

Lizzy smiled. "Well that's good. Sorry I wasn't at the party, by the way! How was it?"

Ciel looked away, blushing slightly. "It was fine," he replied quickly. "Fun, I guess."

Lizzy nodded. "Awesome. Of course, any party is fun at Undertaker's house."

Ciel ignored her, seeing the school through the fog and picking up his pace. He bumped into Alois at the courtyard, and stepped back. "Hello, Trancy."

Alois stuck up his nose. "Watch where you're going, Phantomhive!"

Ciel's eyes widened with surprise as he pushed past Ciel to go greet Elizabeth.

Ciel hurried to the front corner of the school, and there was the normal group, all talking excitedly.

Grell turned to him, his eyes shining and he had a knowing smirk on his face. "I hope you don't mind, I told a few people."

Ciel was confused at first, but then he understood.

Soma looked up at him first from where he sat on the concrete. "Did you really get to third base with Sebastian?"

Ciel tried to respond, but couldn't force any words out.

Soma smiled, chuckling. "I knew it."

Grell held his hands out. "They were loud, too. You could hear his pleasure through the chatter of the other party guests."

Ciel's blush went from light to dark, and he turned away. "I'm going to class."

He hurried into the building, rushing up the stairs, and bumped right into the senior.

"Shorty."

His greeting was curt, and Ciel nodded. "Sebastian."

Sebastian leaned against the locker as the three minute warning bell rang. "Did you get in trouble?"

Ciel nodded, but was looking around warily, knowing that what happened between them could very well be leaked to everyone in the school -- if they didn't know already. Soma hadn't known because he had to leave early, Will hadn't gone, and Agni must not have been in the room. Grell knew, though, and he prayed the feminine male kept his mouth closed.

Ciel and Sebastian headed to class, and when he got there, Alois had his feet up on Ciel's desk, his eyes shining triumphantly.

"Trancy," Ciel teased lightly, "move your feet."

Alois's eyes darkened, and he snapped, "find a new seat, Phantomhive! I need my space."

He looked at his nails, and Ciel was silent for a moment before replying, "are you serious?"

Alois glared at him. "You heard me," he snapped.

Ciel moved back to sit next to Sebastian, who looked more than happy to have him sit with him. "What happened to Alois?" Ciel didn't like how he was acting now; he hoped it would pass.

"Not sure," Sebastian replied, shrugging. "He is a Freshman. I'm sure it'll pass. Like, little boy periods."

Ciel nodded. Alois had this smug look on his face that made Ciel want to punch him.

There had been a new teacher since that day, and nobody had seen Mr. J since. It wasn't questioned much anymore, and nobody had heard anything of police investigations, meaning he was fine, wherever he was. Sebastian twirled a pencil in his hand, like Hannah had, and asked, "are you going to Homecoming?"

Ciel hadn't even thought about Homecoming. It was early October, though, and their Homecoming wasn't until late November, or early December. "I'm not sure," he replied.

Sebastian nodded.

Ciel asked, "what about you?"

Sebastian looked at him for a while. "I'm thinking about asking this really cute boy," he replied, his eyes shining.

Ciel's eyes met his. They had a masked emotion behind them, and he tried to search his eyes to find it, but his mind was blank. He suddenly blushed hard and looked away, covering his face. Sebastian used his hand to turn Ciel's head, leaning in and planting a gentle kiss on his lips. Ciel wasn't surprised, but still felt a rush of adrenaline flow through him when Sebastian pulled away. Alois had seen, and his eyes were wide.

"Are you two a thing?!" Ciel's mouth opened to argue and defend himself, but Alois was quicker. "Does this man Faustus is available?!"

Sebastian rolled his eyes, and Ciel tried not to blush again.

"So, what do you say, Shorty?"

Ciel looked at him, his eyes narrowed. "What?"

Sebastian coughed. "Ciel," he corrected himself, and Ciel tensed. He has never called me Ciel before. "Will you go to Homecoming with me?"

Ciel's mouth opened, but he closed it and started thinking. "I suppose," he replied, feeling himself blush again.

Sebastian smiled. "Cool. Hey, do you mind if I walk home with you today?"

***

Elizabeth was looking at Sebastian and Ciel in awe. The senior had Ciel cradled in his arms, while Ciel struggled vainly.

"I'm asking again, will you put me down?" His question became frantic. It's not that he didn't trust Sebastian, but the senior was tall, and Ciel had a major fear of heights.

"Oh, come on, my lord," he replied, his smile pissing Ciel off all the more. "Let me do you this favor."

"Um, Ciel?" Ciel looked down at Elizabeth.

"Yes?"

Lizzy looked at the ground. "Do you have any plans for after school today?"

Ciel thought for a moment as Sebastian adjusted him in his arms. "Not that I know of, but my father is still displeased at my late return from last night. He may not be too thrilled about letting me go out again."

Lizzy sighed. "Well, if he lets you out, do you think you could meet me at the gazebo? The one in the field by my house. It has a view of the water--"

"I'll see what I can do," he replied quickly.

Sebastian looked at Lizzy for a moment before whispering to Ciel, "she's an annoying one, isn't she?"

Ciel looked at him for a moment. "She's nice," he replied, defending his friend, but quietly enough so she couldn't hear. "Be nice."

Sebastian watched Lizzy run off, her red dress flowing behind her. "She'd be a little more pretty if she straightened her hair," he pointed out.

Ciel shrugged. "I don't mind. So-"

Sebastian cut him off by putting a hand under his chin, and leaned down to kiss him again. At this exact moment Vincent opened the door, and he called, "Ciel Phantomhive!"

Ciel pulled away from Sebastian's face, looking to his father.

"Get in here right now!"

Sebastian suddenly whispered, "or come with me."

Ciel looked at him.

"Come live with me, Shorty. You liked the apartment, right?"

Ciel considered it for a moment, and finally shook his head. "I can't just leave," he retorted.

Sebastian nodded. "The option's always open, Shorty."

By this point, Vincent was heading down the long pathway from their mansion, and Ciel took a few steps back. "Father is angry about something," he observed, and Sebastian took several steps back.

"If you can come out, blow off Elizabeth, come to my place. But hurry, I have others to meet."

Ciel glared at him. "You're making me choose?! If you have others waiting, why do you need me?"

Sebastian smiled. "I want you, Ciel."

His eyes widened as Sebastian darted away. Vincent had reached Ciel by this point, and grabbed his wrist, pulling him inside and closing the door behind them. "Ciel." His voice had gone from angry to desperate and frightened.

"Father?"

"Your mother has gotten worse," he informed Ciel. "She'll be hospitalized if it gets worse than it is now."

Ciel struggled to care. "My condolences," he replied, and Vincent glared at him.

"Please, Ciel, you should know this is important to me. She's important to me."

Ciel glared at him. "Like mother?"

Vincent sighed.

Ciel looked away. "This woman has never once acted motherly towards me, nor has she shown any interest in getting to know me. If she is on her death bed, I'll feel bad, but until then I lack sympathy for this stand-in. When mother returns, she'll be out of our lives."

Vincent shook his head. "Your real mother is not coming back, and I don't want her to, either. You must stop being so stubborn and accept Lisa!"

Ciel turned his back pointedly. "I have to go out, father."

Vincent sighed. "Might as well. I love you, Ciel."

Ciel shrugged. "I know, father."

He grabbed his coat and walked out the door, a tear streaming down his face. He hadn't cried in a while, and it almost felt nice. He thought about several other things, and he cried harder. Eventually he was racing down the street to Sebastian's apartment complex, the tears falling uncontrollably. Sebastian was in his room when Ciel burst through the door, throwing himself at Sebastian's waist.

Ciel had forced himself to stop crying, for the sake of being seen by the senior, but still clutched tightly, feeling the warmth of Sebastian wreath around him.

"Shorty? What's up?" He ran his hand through Ciel's hair, and Ciel buried his face in Sebastian's waist.

"I'm here," he replied, his voice muffled from Sebastian's shirt. "What did you need me for?"

"Oh, I just wanted to know if you would visit, my lord."

Ciel sighed. "Might as well. I do feel bad about ditching Elizabeth, so I might go back to visit her."

Sebastian stood up, using one hand to push Ciel back onto the bed, and he landed with a soft thump.

"Sebastian?"

Sebastian ran a hand down his body length, smiling. Ciel didn't fight this time, but Sebastian didn't get a chance to do much else before there was a knock at the door. Sebastian stood up, looking out the peephole.

"It's Claude."

Ciel sat up, looking at the door. Sebastian was hesitant on opening it, and Ciel cocked his head to one side.

"Well? Are you going to answer it?"

Sebastian shook his head. "I don't want to fuck him right now," he replied.

Ciel couldn't figure out if he was joking or not.

"Come on, let's go out the back."

He led Ciel to the back balcony, where he leaped over the railing and dropped to the grass below. "Come on," he called to Ciel before turning and racing out of the alley. Ciel followed, putting one foot over the railing, but he slipped. The ground was far away to him, and he almost screamed, had Sebastian not caught him. "Be careful, Shorty," he scolded, but he was smiling. "I've never ditched my sex toy before."

Due to it being almost winter, the sun was already going down, and Sebastian thought for a minute. "I know where I want to go," he said after a moment. Holding Ciel in his arms as he ran, he made his way downtown, turning several corners until they came to a field.

Ciel felt ground beneath him as Sebastian dropped him, and he let out a small grunt. "Ouch," he complained irritably. "Thanks for just dropping me."

Sebastian walked farther out into the field, pulling his hood on. Ciel scrambled to his feet and hurried after him, until they were at the edge of the field, which was actually a steep cliff to the icy cold ocean below.

"God," Ciel muttered, his foot nearly sliding off the edge. "Kind of a dangerous drop, don't you think?"

Sebastian nodded, sitting on the edge, letting one foot hang over. Ciel sat next to him, his eyes sweeping over the water.

"So...?"

Sebastian leaned back, resting himself on his arms. "Isn't it a cool view, Shorty?"

Ciel nodded, smiling a little.

***

"I'm sure he meant to show up," Paula insisted, comforting the crying Elizabeth.

"No," Lizzy replied, wiping a tear from her cheek. "I should have known he wouldn't come. I even made the gazebo so cute!"

She bawled louder, and Paula stroked her hair, resting her head on Lizzy's and muttering comforting words to her. "Why don't you and I just go enjoy the tea out there?"

Her suggestion was considered by the crying girl. "Okay, Paula. Come on now, I hope you like Vanilla Chai."

As they sat out at the gazebo, Paula heard a gasp from Elizabeth. "Look, Paula."

Paula turned her head to the left to see a small butterfly. It was perched on her teapot spout, and Lizzy giggled. Paula smiled, happy seeing her young friend smiling again. "Cute, Elizabeth, very cute."

Lizzy picked up the teapot, and the butterfly stayed where it was. "Oh, silly butterfly, you should move."

The butterfly stayed put. Lizzy shrugged, still smiling, and poured the steaming hot tea, drenching the butterfly as it fluttered its soaked, burning wings frantically.

Paula's eyes widened in shock. "Elizabeth?!"

"Silly, silly butterfly," she chirped, her voice high pitched with delight. Paula's eyes were brimmed with concern and shock as she saw Lizzy proceed to stir the suffering butterfly into the tea, then giving the cup to Paula. "Here, I made it for you!"

Paula smiled weakly and took the cup. "Thank you," she stuttered, looking warily at the tea. She saw the limbs of the creature floating in the tea and swallowed hard. "I think it needs some sugar."

"I'm sorry, Paula," Elizabeth said after a while, wiping another tear from her cheek. "I just wish I could be as close with Ciel as Sebastian is."

Paula smiled. "Why don't you ask him to Homecoming," she suggested gently. "Then you two would be close, right?"

Lizzy gasped. "Paula, you're a genius!" She hugged her friend excitedly. "Here." She dropped some sugar cubes into Paula's tea, and Paula chuckled nervously.

"Thanks," she said halfheartedly.

Lizzy cocked her head to one side. "Aren't you going to drink it?"

Paula's mouth hung open. "Don't you remember what you...?"

Lizzy gave her a blank stare, and Paula groaned quietly, forcing a smile as she lifted the cup to her lips.

***

"So, did you have a reason for bringing me here?" Ciel moved a little closer to Sebastian, who lay his hand on top of Ciel's.

"What do you say we skip school tomorrow, and...you know, go out?"

Ciel blushed, refusing to meet Sebastian's eyes when he turned his head.

"If you want to, that's fine with me."

Sebastian kissed the boy's cheek, catching him by surprise.

"It's a bit surprising, Shorty. I actually like you, you know? Normally it's fuck and go, but..." he intertwined his fingers with Ciel's now, and Ciel let out a small squeak. "You can't tell anyone about my sappy side, okay kid? It's embarrassing."

Ciel nodded, finally tightening his grip on Sebastian's hand, giving in to his feelings as he never had before.

"Besides," Sebastian pulled him closer so he was cradling him on his chest, and ran a hand through his hair. "You're my Shorty, right?"

Ciel nodded, leaning into Sebastian, closing his eyes and letting his breaths soften. Sebastian kissed his forehead once, then his cheek, and Ciel smiled. Sebastian pulled him back so Ciel was laying on him, and they both closed their eyes. They would have both fallen asleep if it hadn't started to rain.

"I don't want to be any more wet then I already am," Sebastian joked as they stood up. Ciel covered his head with one arm as the rain fell, and Sebastian stripped off his coat, wrapping it around Ciel. "You'll catch a cold."

Ciel shrugged. "No," he replied. "Because you'll keep me warm."

Sebastian chuckled, picking Ciel up again. Ciel didn't fight him this time, only leaned on his chest again.

"To your house, right?"

"No," Ciel stammered, using one hand to grab Sebastian's hoodie on his shoulder, pulling it down and covering his face with it. "I want to go home with you. If that's alright."

Sebastian smiled, carrying him at a steady pace past his mansion as the rain fell harder, soaking the senior completely.

"You're getting drenched," Ciel fretted.

Sebastian shrugged. "You're dry, my lord. That's all I'm worried about."

Ciel nodded, laying his head back and breathing deeply.

They got to the apartment fairly quickly, and Sebastian lay Ciel on his bed, hurrying over to close the door directly after. Ciel was tired, but not exhausted, and he sat up, pulling off the jacket and trying to hand it to Sebastian.

"You can keep it," Sebastian murmured as he walked to the closet to get dry clothes.

Ciel didn't argue, folding up the jacket and setting it beside the bed. "Pretty nice, for a studio," he pointed out.

Sebastian nodded. "Yeah. Affordable, but I don't pay for it."

Ciel didn't get a chance to ask who did before Sebastian's shirt came off, and he instinctively looked away.

"You don't have to keep doing that," Sebastian pointed out flatly, walking over and using one hand to pin Ciel to the bed. He kissed him, even allowing his tongue to glide through Ciel's lips. Ciel kissed back, gently yet hungrily, wrapping his arms around Sebastian's bare chest. Sebastian broke the kiss to kiss Ciel's forehead instead, which made Ciel blush harder. "Is it too late to deny I have feelings for you?"

Ciel laughed a little at Sebastian's remark.

"My father is going to kill me," he muttered, feeling Sebastian's breath on his neck as he kissed him.

"Why?" He paused, looking up, giving Ciel a genuinely concerned look.

Ciel sighed. "I don't have the best relationship with him," he admitted, his eyes dull. "We had a fight before I left. He probably thinks I left him."

Sebastian brushed Ciel's short bang from his eyes, kissing his cheek. "Don't worry about it, Shorty," he whispered, and Ciel nodded, kissing Sebastian's cheek in return.

"I do need to get dressed, though," Sebastian said after a while, standing up and walking to his closet. Ciel moved up farther in the bed until he was under the comforter. Sebastian pulled on a nightshirt before turning to see him. "Hey," he scolded, "what do you think you're doing?"

He walked to the bed, sliding under the blankets with Ciel, who chuckled lightly, his eyes shining with defiance. Sebastian sighed, switching off the lights.

***

"I just think it's a bad idea," Hannah muttered to Alois, who was sitting in the boat with her. They were friends, after all, and the stars shone above the water made the mood serious yet light. "Claude isn't right for you. He'll hurt you, Trancy."

Alois shrugged. "I'm sure he hurt people in the past, but I have to be different!"

Hannah shook her head sadly, her heart aching. Stupid boy.

"I feel much more confident since Mr. J is gone," he admitted.

Hannah smiled. "That's good," she replied. "Just don't get too full of yourself. Sebastian did help you, and so did Ciel."  She chuckled. "Ciel is kinda cute, don't you think?"

Alois shrugged. "He's alright."

Hannah rested a hand on his shoulder. "I don't want you getting hurt," she murmured. "Just be careful."

Alois turned on her, his eyes blazing. "I can take care of myself!"

He raised one hand in the air, and Hannah's eyes widened in shock as he brought it across her face, leaving a red mark in the shape of a hand.

"Alois?!" She held her face, fighting back tears.

Alois's eyes widened. "Hannah, I..." he stepped back, tripping on the pile of rope at the edge of the small boat and falling out with a squeal into the ice cold water below. "Hannah!" His calls were abrupt. Alois couldn't swim, and he submerged almost immediately. He felt the water filling his lungs as he breathed in frantically, seeing Hannah looking down at him through the water. He flailed his arms, fearing he was going to sink into the depths of the water.

Hannah had hesitated, but eventually reached her arm in and grabbed Alois's shirt collar, dragging him onto the boat. He was heavy, but she was athletic, so she was able to throw him down on the deck. "Alois? Are you alright?" Her eyes were sparked with concern, and he shrugged, coughing up water.

"Thanks," he stammered, his voice strained.

Hannah got to her knees, helping him up and holding her close to him.

"Just be careful," she whispered, running her hand through his wet hair once.

Alois was breathless now, so he didn't argue or strike. Instead he let himself sink into her arms and fall asleep. She bent her head to rest it atop his, sighing deeply with concern. He reminds me so much of my own brother. I can't lose him, too. She rocked him a little, lost in her own little world.

"If I could, I would tell you what Claude did to my brother and I," she told the sleeping Alois. "My hatred for him is rooted deep, and if he does the same thing to you, I would just...kill myself." She hugged him closer, feeling the cold water from his clothes drip onto her dress.

I will not let him hurt you, Alois.
I am so sorry that this took so long...I mean...it's finals week, so I've been studying everything, and I've also like deleted the storyline several times. *Note that I started this on the 25th.* First it was going to be brunch, then it was a boat ride, until finally I just decided to bring them back to school. ^^;

*TODAY* FUCKING FINALLY.

Is it weird that I think Ciel's voice is the same as the lady who narrates "Snapped", the murder series? It kinda evolved from his english dub anime voice, into... that.
